How much do hair extensions cost?

The Consultation
How much do hair extensions cost is a good question! I know it’s a long spiel, and the consultation takes time. Reading all the information seems unnecessary, and you want to know how much hair extensions cost right now.
There are a lot of variables in hair extension pricing with different systems and different methods of installing them. The length of the hair extensions, the colour and the amount of hair used are important determinizing factors in hair extension pricing.
The amount of money you want to spend can determine what hair extensions are best for you. The cost of hair extensions varies with length, color, amount of hair and the system used to install them.
You’re the one who sets the price for hair extensions. And to answer your question and get everything out of the way, let’s say $1200 up or down.
The Budget
Hair extension costs will range differently with the different hair extension systems. Sometimes, the budget determines what hair extension system to use. The prices for hair extensions can go all across the board with the hair quality, the length, the colour and the methods. Reasonably speaking, anywhere from $300-$3000 or more!!!!!
The strand by stand methods
The strand by strand hair extensions cost more and take longer to install. Stand-by-strand installations feel more natural to wear, just like your natural hair, and you can wear them with comfort and durability.
Micro Linking Pricing
I have made the hair extensions cost for my strand by strand systems fundamental and easy to understand. The crimped micro linking hair extensions will start at $300 an ounce for 16″ Remy Indian double-drawn human hair, nail head strands, and standard size crimped micro linking method.
Every time you want to add extra length, blonde or lighter colour, multiple colors, highlighting, baby lights, Ombre’ or any additional hair service, add $30 per ounce or every 2″.
The micro linking system is the least costly of the two-strand by strand systems I offer.
Installation of the strand by strand hair extension systems requires top-quality high-end hair to get the most comfortable, pleasant wearing experience and look natural.
Keratin cold fusion pricing
Keratin Cold fusion strand by strand methods of hair extensions cost more, and they come in bundles of 25 strands. The cost would have to be done by individual calculation as it would depend on the hair used, the colour of hair extensions, the length of hair, and the number of strands installed.
Using this high-end system, you will want the most beautiful top-quality Remy human hair for the best results and natural-looking hair extensions.
Installing hair extensions strand by strand is a long process and not worth the time if you’re not going to use the best!
We recommend a personal consultation with your hair extension artist to determine your needs for all these variables.
The Wefted Methods
The wefted methods may not always have high-end quality hair, and Wefts come in many qualities of hair which will reflect in the hair extensions cost.
With the Sew-in form, with the natural hair braided tight to the scalp, the commercial hair does not have to blend in-between the natural hair.
Custom-made tape-ins or Clip-ins with the absolute best hair would cost nearly the same as the other high-quality hair extensions.
Clip-in pricing
Let us start with the Clip-ins hair extensions cost. Clip-ins are the most economical and fastest hair extension system to wear and install.
The price will depend on the quality of hair and will range from:
Human Hair Clip-in Extensions Cost | $150+ | $0 |
Remy Hair Clip-in Extensions Cost | $200+ | $0 |
Synthetic Invisible Wire Extensions Cost | $75+ | $0 |
Human Hair Invisible Wire Extensions Cost | $150 |
Clip-ins are toupee clips sewn on the back of weft panels of hair. These clips come in different colour and sizes to accommodate different hair textures.
Hair extension costs for clip-in can vary, and it depends on the quality of the hair. Custom-made clip-in hair extensions can be made with high-quality hair and are nicer to wear. Commercial clip-in hair extensions are purchased at a retail hair outlet store.
Tape-In hair extensions pricing
Concerning hair extension cost, the tape-in would be less expensive. The average price of tape in hair extensions ranges between $200-$400 (an average of $300). Plus installation at the hairdresser, which is about $200. They’ll need to be adjusted every four to six weeks, depending on how your hair grows.
Tape-ins are hair extensions where glued panels of hair are placed close to the root area throughout the head. This type of hair extension is fast to install, depending on the amount of hair to install. This method will need re-installation after about six weeks of wear. Reinstalling requires re-taping or re-gluing the base of each panel.
Tape-Ins can be custom handcrafted. For customized tape-in hair extension costs, we must have a consultation.
Sew-in hair extensions prices
I do not offer the Sew-in or beaded weft hair extension methods.
Prices would depend on several factors, including location and stylist., Typically, the installation service ranges from $100 to $600. And that’s not including the cost of the hair, which can fall anywhere between $100 to $600.
The Sew-in hair extensions will give the client the most amount of hair possible for a hair extension system. The hair quality can be all across-the-board, making the hair extension cost vary.
Method of installation and add on:
Let’s talk about the different variations affecting hair extensions cost. The quality of hair is an essential factor and usually represents 50% of the total cost of hair extensions.
And the colour will affect the price as the blonde levels of hair will ultimately cost more. Highlights, lowlights, baby lights, and multiple colours usually have additional fees.
Quality of Hair
The hair quality will determine the hair extension cost, and recommended is always Remy hair. Remy hair means all the cuticles will run in the same direction.
We do not recommend non-Remy hair for hair extension methods listed in this blog.
Single drawn human hair
Single-drawn Remy human hair extensions cost less and are suitable for temporary installation.
If it’s an updo, wedding style, or theatrical piece, the single drawn does excellent as it keeps its place well.
Single drawn will have a shorter length of hair throughout the bundle. It can matt easy and is hard to brush through.
Double drawn human hair
Double-drawn Remy human hair extensions cost more. Double-drawn means all the shorter hairs are removed from the bundle leaving the longer lengths. This process makes the hair softer, shinier and luxurious to wear. Double drawn is the best quality of hair for the price to use in the strand by strand hair extension methods or sometimes in a wefted installation system. With hair extensions, the higher quality double-drawn hair will be easier to brush and maintain your daily routine.
Triple drawn human hair
Triple-drawn Remy human hair extensions cost the most. The procedure is known as drawing the hair out where only the long lengths remain in the bundle, ensuring softness and sleekness.
Triple-drawn is a custom order requiring only the longest lengths in this process. The result will be effortless to brush and maintain.
Importing has a hefty fee, and labor is lengthy with the delicate job of separating the hairs to obtain the most extended lengths.
Amount of hair
The amount of hair you need will affect the hair extension cost. The installation could be a full head, half head, light install, med or heavy install. Or maybe only in the front or sides. Any combination reflects the price, as does the amount of hair needed.
I can only comment on the strand by strand systems which I use.
The price goes by weight, and the 16″ has approximately 50 strands, 20″ about 40 strands, etc.
These examples are pictures depicting how installed hair in various amounts looks.
These pics show our model with different amounts of hair installed: a 1-ounce installation, 2-ounce installation, and a 3-ounce installation.
Colour of hair extensions
The new hair is supposed to give your hair colour without the need for using the colour bottle on your natural hair.
Hair extensions are excellent at hiding colour and enhancing natural hair colour. Think about it, ‘How good does your hair colour look two weeks after your hair dye, anyway?’ Do you find that your hair goes gold quickly after hair colouring? Your virgin hair will not fade (only after sunbathing); virgin hair is healthier, softer, and doesn’t tangle like coloured, processed hair.
Highlights and lowlights
Blending and mixing colors can be an additional hair extension cost. Highlighting, low lighting, custom colouring, or ombres adds to the hair extension cost. It’s colouring your hair by adding new healthy, bright coloured hair extensions.
Conclusion
The final price will be regarding the density of the client’s hair. *client is responsible for charges on all hair used.
Don’t forget when requesting hair be the longest possible lengths; multiple colors, highlights, low lights, or a full head of the lightest blonde that every added component will bring up the price of your hair extensions.
The quote is $300 an ounce for the natural base colour level 3, 16 inches authentic Remy Indian double drawn human hair installed everything included; with 50 standard size strands installed. If the client wants a lighter colour, there is an additional charge of $30 an ounce, and longer lengths will be an extra $30 every 2 inches.
The quote!
The number of strands included in a $300 quote is 50 strands with the 16″ Remy Indian double-drawn human hair.
*the number of strands will increase or decrease with the length and thickness of the hair extension strands. The finer the strands, they may require additional strands to cover the head, and the added strands will cost more.
Haircuts are an added charge. These are all added services, and it is just like getting a hair colour or highlighting in a hair salon. The same services with hair extensions, and yes, there’s added charge for this service.
Hair extensions cost add up for every additional service you require!
