· Braid your hair prior to washing. Start washing at the scalp. Make sure you get the roots thoroughly clean, then work the shampoo down through the braided ends. You will need to rinse for a longer period of time. Pay special attention to the root area and rinse until your scalp and hair are squeaky clean.
